Building a stable innovation technology and entrepreneurship ecosystem is the mission that drives Sahara Ventures. A mission that neither one man nor one company can accomplish alone.
As an individual, a company or a fellow in the ecosystem, you might have attended our event, supported our acceleration programs, invested in our startups, spoke in our event, contributed in our reports, engaged in our stories or liked our Tweets. We appreciate that, and that has kept us going.
We are honored to have engaged over 2000 innovators, entrepreneurs and tech enthusiasts through our activities, events, and accelerators. We have thus been able to generate 5 insight reports through these engagements (You can access these reports here): Silicon Dar, Artificial intelligence in Tanzania, Towards realizing the digital economy in Tanzania, data zetu community package insight and E-Kilimo learning report.
Through our event wing, Sahara Sparks we have been able to bring together over 150 startups from across the country and from within different regions in the country. We have successfully equipped and capacitated 25 startups with the basic skills to run a startup. Among them, 16 were completely new founders! This has been accomplished through AMUA Accelerator, Lishe Accelerator, and SheFound initiative
After 4 years of existence, in just 2019 we have been able to start the initiatives: Silicon Dar, SheFound and Tanzania AI Lab
