Open Letter From Follower To Leader Over The COVID 19 Crisis
Dear Leader,
First of all, the pressure I feel at a personal level is humongous. Six different feelings in a span of one hour; Fear, doubt, sadness, hopefulness, hopelessness, courage. Of course, there is also anxiety, regret and I am certain my mind has wondered a lot to a million possibilities of what the future might look like. It is a thick fog.
Simply put, I am terrified!
I cannot begin to imagine how you are doing! Whatever I am going through, you are probably facing it 10 times more.
I need you to know this:
I am here, and I am willing to support in any way I can. Yes, I understand that now money may be out of the equation. I also understand you now need me to adjust and adapt to the new normal. Of course, I understand you are as well crowded with uncertainty and doubt.
I can imagine how much you are now putting in the extra hours to compensate for the situation.
But I can tell you this; I am not expecting you to have all the answers now. I don’t need you to. I don’t expect you to be in your best emotional state either. I would appreciate it if you share your fears and how you have no idea what the future looks like. That authenticity will connect us.
I do expect you to be the comfort that you are. I need you to be very honest at this point. For the way things are, what is the worst that could happen? I wouldn’t mind if you overcommunicate really.
In the midst of this chaos, I expect you to provide order. Don’t send mixed signals. Share the workflow and clarify your expectations with everyone.
Kindly do not jump to conclusions once I or anyone fails to adhere to the order or instructions you have provided. At this point, we are all frustrated, the best you can do is give us a listening ear and be more understanding.
This will be highly appreciated!
